Alvin James Design (Previous Design) One of my many self promotional portfolio sites. I actually completed the design and development of the site myself from start to finish. Below is the splash page loosely driven by the concept that I have been designing since I could remember. It features an image of myself as a toddler holding a branded mug with a funny look that demands that I’m a trustworthy professional, even though I was barely two.
Below:The landing page. Included self promotional branding, live interactive twitter feed, featured portfolio pieces, about section, and more.
Below:The portfolio page displayed the projects in their entirety (except for websites) on a single page as if you were looking at them on a table. The websites are displayed in miniature ipad frames.
Below:The individual project landing pages were straightforward, easy to navigate, and focused on the project. I also embedded a facebook like button where users could “like” and share individual pieces. Believe it or not the integration of this small button was responsible for bringing in a wave of new clients.
